With the upcoming vote for the 2019 SPLOST, it is my hope that the citizens of Coweta County will realize the importance of this SPLOST. Without the SPLOST money, our taxes will have to go up in order to provide us with the needed services for this growing county. This is a wonderful way for us to receive funds from all those out of our county who shop and eat here in our many available places.
Among the proposed usage of the SPLOST funds is a $1.15 million expenditure for a public safety radio system upgrade. With what is going on in our nation, our state, our county, it is imperative that we have the best communication system available for all our public safety agencies in order for them to quickly and expediently communicate with each other during times of difficulties here. At present, it is often a problem for one agency to communicate with another when a disaster strikes. We simply must provide a system whereby our law enforcement agencies and firefighting agencies can readily talk with each other. Without SPLOST, we will certainly have to increase our taxes to provide needed protection for our citizens. Please go to the polls on election day and Vote Yes for SPLOST. Thank you so much.
