about us

AVPRIDE: 501 (c)3 youth-serving organization, contracted by the state of Georgia to address substance abuse prevention in Fayette and Coweta counties. Programs for youth and families. For nearly 25 years, AVPRIDE has led the Fayette and Coweta communities in youth development and leadership training. From kindergarten to high school and college and beyond, AVPRIDE has shepherded our young people to become strong self-advocates who make good decisions that will serve them well now and in the future. Starting in elementary school, the After School Enrichment Program helps students gain vital educational and study skills and begins the process of social and cultural awareness that will help them become productive citizens locally and globally. The middle school years are known as the ''bridges'' group in which self-awareness and self-confidence are gained through thoughtful and strategic decision making with a focus on the necessary skills for the teen and high school years. Our Fayette Youth Leaders Pride Program works with high school students to develop their advocacy and leadership skills which is balanced with community engagement and servant leadership. Our goal is to help develop the whole person who leads a rich, developed life and gives back to the community in meaningful ways. We also recognize that children and teens cannot successfully progress in the absence of strong families and role models. For this reason, AVPRIDE has been awarded federal and state alcohol and substance abuse grants for a decade to positively impact youth and adults in need.
