Join us for an important training by Chuck Wade, director of Drugs Don't Work Georgia, The Council on Alcohol and Drugs. This training can be used to meet employee drug education and supervisor training requirements for the Drugs Don’t Work program which yields a 7.5% workman’s compensation discount. HR managers and other DDW administrators can use this training to meet annual requirements.

Chuck will be joined by Gregg Raduka, who will provide a brief overview of the current legislation around marijuana. Gregg is the expert in the state of Georgia on keeping up and addressing these legislative efforts at the Capitol. Gregg also works at The Council on Alcohol and Drugs and is the Executive Director of Let's Be Clear (LBC) Georgia.

Formed under the auspices of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber, the Coweta Safety Alliance was founded to make sure that local businesses are leading the way in keeping employees safe and preparing for natural disasters and unexpected emergencies.

This January expo is designed for 8th-grade students from the six public middle schools, with invitations also extended to private schools in Coweta County. In collaboration with the Coweta County School System and the Coweta County Development Authority, this partnership will expand the student career path experience.

Industry leaders, construction companies and local manufacturers along with healthcare and
utility providers will join public safety and transportation companies to share their world of work. Participation in the expo will create awareness about exciting career options among students and educators. They will leave the expo knowing Coweta’s workforce needs and the opportunities for college education and training during high school with the Dual Enrollment program.

In order to develop
high-demand career interest among students, a variety of opportunities will be presented via hands-on, interactive activities across nine career worlds. This will guide them to make smart and informed decisions for their future and move our community forward with workforce-ready graduates.
